City of Lahti in Finland is seeking solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of construction in both new and old buildings. The city-owned tenement housing company begins the building of energy-efficient apartment blocks.

Project funding was now granted especially for art projects offering art experiences to all residents in Lahti and the neighbouring municipalities. Several projects supporting the relationship of children and young people with nature also received funding.

The Finnish city of Lahti has an ambitious goal of being carbon neutral in 2025, 25 years before the general target of the European union. This industrial city in Southern Finland stopped burning coal in 2019. Next, the focus is on traffic emissions.
